stealth kitty

This might look like an avenue of fall leaves at first glance. But if you look carefully you will find a stealth kitty lower right. Stealth Kitty? Well, I used to call her Red Lady but that didn't really fly. Then my daddy declared her Rosebud. Nice. But Jane swears she is a stealth kitty because she is low and slides through the traffic real fast.

dang! a toe nail is going purple. marathon will do that. anyhow, ran up the trails above pasadena with my buddy john radich and michele. really pretty. training for the wild wild west in may.

i'm having a real dilemma - in love with a camelback but 1) it's a biker's camelback, and 2) it's a woman's camelback. but it's real light, could use it for like running to the store (can pack a lotta stuffinit). but maybe i need a hiker's camelback. y'know? maybe the biker thing won't work for running. then john said he'd run up whitney with me - which justifies the bucks - probably gonna do it. :)

2005 l.a. marathon XX

reality check - do i want a good time or do i want good pictures? if you want a good time you have to do good training. hmm.... so... we dusted 4 hours instead of 3½. but i did real good on not dehydrating for a change. and i did get some good pictures. :) here's amy, tek, brian, bob, me and emanual at the end.

whoa! the green one advocates a national consumption tax. surreal to have a sane idea so high up.

meanwhile i'm going nuts with my no-carb diet. cashews, almonds - anything to sway the dizziness and craving. then precipicate headlong into carbo-load orgy tomorrow. going for 3½ on sunday, even if my training doesn't deserve that.

i was there

we are walking out of trader joe's when this girl walks in with NAUGHTY across her t-shirt. jane laughs. i say, "that was good." she says, "what was good?" turns out i missed that the girl was wearing no bra and that she was out to steal husbands in our sleepy little bedroom-suburb in the mountains. there was, of course, no recourse for me - no right answer. i finally capitulated and said that if i ran into the girl again i would talk to her about it. :)

Ran at the track with Brian and the Judge. Over breakfast the Judge mentioned that his girlfriend was "an under" but changed to "over" for his benefit. Personally I view this as right or wrong, not preference. The right was is over so that you can easily tear off the next piece.
